Technology transfer

At Széchenyi István University, a top priority is the creation and utilization of intellectual property through licenses sold and spin-offs developed by university researchers. The Centre for University-Industry Cooperation's business development managers assist in the exploitation of intellectual property created by researchers and academics who utilize the University's financial and research infrastructure.

Types of intellectual property

The purpose of safeguarding intellectual property is to secure ethical and legal protection as well as material recognition for the work of creative minds. This includes inventions, literary, artistic, and scientific works, scientific breakthroughs, trademarks (such as brand names and geographical indications), and intellectual activities in the fields of industry, science, literature, or the arts. The protection of intellectual property can be categorized into two main areas:

• Copyright law protects original works created by individuals. These works can be of various nature.

Intellectual Property Management Policy

The goal of the Intellectual Property Management Policy is to motivate and assist the staff of Széchenyi István University in producing intellectual property while guaranteeing that researchers reap the rewards of the scientific utilization of intellectual property within the bounds of the law. This will improve the competitiveness of the University.

Proof-of-Concept Fund competition

The purpose of this call is to provide funding for initiatives that encourage the commercialization of intellectual property developed by university researchers and academics. This includes evaluating and testing the innovation, as well as enhancing the technology or creation to make it more attractive for additional funding opportunities.
